TIP OF THE WEEK:  When discarding - be careful if you are voiding yourself in a suit.  This is GREAT if you know partner can get in and give you a ruff.  But terrible if when declarer plays the suit and you show out - they will know how to pick off your partner's honours in that suit.  If you have a long useless suit - discard from that!

KUDOS To Ann & Cel Dicks with 70.83% for their win on Tuesday afternoon and along with Eleanor Luckhurst and Linda MacLeod snagged first place  on Saturday in the Up the Ranks -- well done everyone.  Up the Ranks on Saturday also found the team of Doreen Hamilton, Phyllis Spurway, Janet Benvie and Sally Ritcey second place overall and 1st in flight C.

VICTOR is back this  week and must be commended on the fine showing in China.  Considering that in Europe and Asia bridge is in the school cirriculum and they have hundred of kids playing which is far different than in Canada -our Canadian Youth team came 11 out of 22; they won 12 of 21 matches - a good showing. Canada has an under 16 team (from Toronto) and the team came SECOND in the overalls.
